World Wide Web Resources

The World Wide Web, or graphical part of the Internet, has abundant resources for genealogical research from searchable surname indexes, databases, and home pages, to governmental records.

The Web is indexed by a multitude of search engines. Information regarding the location, description, and contents of a web site are submitted to these search engines. People using the Web can then go to one of these search engines, type in information they are looking for, and receive a list of appropriate sites. This makes the web one of the most user-friendly spots on the Internet.
