he Sons and Daughters of Oregon
Pioneers was established by the children of the elderly members of the
Oregon Pioneer Association to assist them in carrying out their desire
to memorialize those that came to the Oregon Country, founded our civil
and military governments, and pioneered our basic industries.
In 1901 the
organization was incorporated, with it's principle place of business
and meeting, in Portland, Oregon. There are more than 1200 members
worldwide.
PURPOSE
he purpose of the organization
shall be to bring together the descendants of the pioneers for social,
literary and other purposes of mutual benefit, and to perpetuate in the
minds of its members, their descendants, and the general public, the
memories of the intrepid Pioneers. The goals are to educate interested
persons in the history of the Pioneers and restore and preserve
historic locations without sacrificing any of their significance.

MEMBERSHIP
All direct line
descendants of the pioneers who arrived and settled in the Oregon
Country, Oregon Territory, or Washington Territory prior to Oregon
statehood, February 14, 1859 are eligible for membership in the Sons
and Daughters of Oregon Pioneers.
